Caño Negro River Wildlife Adventure

Description

Unique Caño Negro is an experience that blends nature, culture, and Costa Rican tradition. Located next to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, it offers the perfect opportunity to explore the area’s unique biodiversity.

The journey begins with a scenic drive through rural landscapes and traditional plantations in San Carlos and Los Chiles, leading to the ‘El Caimán’ restaurant, where the adventure starts with a

refreshing snack and a boat tour along the Río Frío. During this two-hour tour, nature will amaze you at every turn: exotic birds flying overhead, howler and white-faced monkeys

moving through the trees, iguanas basking in the sun, and caimans resting along the shore. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the rare orange howler monkey, a hidden gem of Caño Negro.

To complete this unforgettable experience, you’ll enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch made with fresh, local ingredients, followed by a sweet cultural treat a brief but tasty lesson on sugarcane and cacao, two essential elements of Costa Rica’s heritage.
